Remember the Light Within You

I’m Michiyo, a spiritual counsellor based in Japan. For close to twenty years I have worked with the soul rather than the mind, giving readings to more than 7,000 people on work, family, love and partnership. I have also written more than ten books, all published in Japanese.

To me, the real purpose of spirituality is to remember, at the level of the soul, who you truly are — and then to live in a way that is genuinely your own. The answer is never outside you; it is already within. My work has always been about helping people see that for themselves, without depending on anyone — least of all me.

These days my work centres on speaking and teaching. I speak regularly on YouTube and on Voicy (a Japanese audio platform), and write on my blog and my Substack newsletter. I teach at the Spiritual Metascience Academy, a school for people training to become spiritual counsellors, and at Tokihana School, a course on creativity with AI. I also advise companies on communication and the use of AI.

I no longer take private clients. A small number of one-to-one sessions are offered each month to members of my online community.

Away from work, I design jewellery with natural stones, listen to a great deal of progressive rock, and tend the roses in my garden.
